Little idea you can do with your window screens that has holes to fix!
Instead of using screen repair patch, why not make it more fun and colorful by stitching the patch like quilting??
I had a window that has screens with holes that I never bothered to fix because it sounded ridiculous to buy whole sheets of screen or repair patch to fix 2 little holes. Which also means I never opened this window because of that!
So now is the time to make changes and make these holes more fun for our home.
Materials:
- Embroidery thread(or any thick thread so it's more visible from far away) with your choice of color.
- Sewing needle
- Patch of mesh(I used leftover patch that I already had while ago)
Process is simple, you just have to place the patch to how ever you like and do zig-zag stitch around the whole square.
Because you're working with mesh it's so much easier to follow the stitch spacing by counting the grid mark. I put 2 gaps in between in each stitch.
Here is Before and After:
*Before shot has 2 holes on the left side that you may not see. I didn't pay attention that I took after shot, the holes are on the right side.
I had never looked forward to have more holes for me to add more patches!
For now, I'll enjoy looking that this quilting patch floating on my window.
