Adult's Fried Chicken
- 5 Chicken Drumsticks, skinless
- 50ml Kaki No Tane(small crescent-shaped fragments of senbei), crushed
- Sliced Lemon for garnish
Marinate:
- 1 tsp Ginger, gound
- 1 tsp Garlic, gound
- 1 tbsp Sake
- 1/2 tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 tsp Sansho(Japanese Pepper) or Ground Pepper
- 1 tsp Hanasansho(Sichuan pepper) or Crushed Red Pepper
Tempura Batter:
- 50ml flour
- 50ml cold water
1. Cut drumstick into "tulip cut": With scissors, cut the meat from the inside so you're able to flip the meat inside out.
** You can skip this step if you want to speed the process then start at Step 2.
2. Marinate for 30min or overnight.
3. Pre-heat oil in a pan at medium-high. Prepare tempura batter.
4. Dunk chicken into tempura batter, then into Kaki No Tane and then deep fry.
5. Deep fry for 7-8min or until it's fully cooked.
6. Drizzle with lemon to serve.
