Merry Christmas everyone!
Hope everyone is having safe and exciting holiday!
There was my friend's Christmas party that they planned to have ornament exchange so I decided to do handmade ornament to participate. Sadly the party got cancelled cuz of the announcement of province's indoor capacity restriction.
Sooo to make good use of it, I've decided to add this ornament to my tree instead.
I made this Murakami Flower Christmas Ornament, made for the party host. Hope they like it!
It's winter now and I didn't post this early enough before the summer ends....
Just while ago, Michael Kor had nice summer raffia bag, it looked really cute with that white stitch on the strap so I gave a try to make my own version.
Leather straps are from unwanted leather jackets from friends and I repurposed them for this project.
I got these Raffia yarns from Wool And The Gang. This yarn is made from
paper so I thought it would tear easier but it has a same strength as
regular yarn. So one strand of yarn can tear with a pull but once you
crochet, it becomes tough material. This goes with paper raffia yarn.
Haven't tested if this is actually waterproof but I'll let it happen
when it rains on it.
Quick and easy way to make waxed thread(for the strap) is grab crochet yarn and rub the thread against the bee wax.
I keep all my bee wax candles, like the leftover bottom when you finish using candles. There's always a way to re-purpose these.
So this waxed thread is hand stitched across the leather strap.
The metal buckles are from dog collars that I got from Target's liquidation sale where they were $1 for a collar.
