my malasadas

My Friday night was making malasadas with my friends. It's a Portuguese donuts covered with sugar, some has fillings inside but I liked it plain. Frying was the best part, a little piece of dough expands while frying them. And they turn out this consistent golden color that makes you feel rewarding.

Because this was our first time making donuts, it took us about 5 hours to FINISH making them. This was suppose to be our "tea party", prepare the food(that I expected it'll take about maximum 2 hours) and have tea/coffee while we hang out. It turned out to be a giant project where we stayed up until 3am.

It was definitely fun though. But we had SO MANY donuts. We could actually serve 30 people and have giant tea party~
