Shoe Rack

Before we had this default coat rack that came with this house when we moved in.
For last few years we've been using this coat rack and didn't have proper place to store shoes every time we enter our home, so our shoes were huge mess on the ground.

But FINALLY! We built our shoe rack to keep it organized, clean floor, and coat rack that we like!

Show Rack: before and after

In the main floor we have a theme to have all wooden shelf to be stained to give more rustic interior look.
From my past projects I kept consistent with a specific wood stains.
- Kitchen Shelves
- Wooden Gift Box

Shoe Rack

Materials:
- 6pc, 1x8x4 Pine wood from Home Depot
- Minwax Wood Finish - Golden Oak 210B
- 12pc, Everbilt 3 Inch X4 Inch Black Shelf Bracket
- 24pc 6-8x1 drywall screws
- 12pc 4x1 screws

Cut and sand down the wood piece for smoother finish. Removed excess dust with vacuum cleaner and then stained the wood.

At my local shopping district, they had these adorable outdoor faucet wall hooks. Bought 4 variations for our new coat rack.

Shoes are never on the ground anymore so it's so much easier to vacuum and it makes the cleaning a little more fun!

Expo Barbie

EXPO Barbie

Few weeks ago, I went to Montreal for visit. Mainly to walk around and eat.

I was googling Simons for location and while I was looking at the map, I found a sign that says "Barbie Expo". I was thinking "like literally Barbie Expo??" so I googled that and yes! There is an expo for Barbie dolls!
The admission was free so I totally went to check out what they were displaying!

EXPO Barbie

I wasn't a huge fan of Barbie during my childhood, mainly because I realized Barbie is only fun to play when you have closet full of dresses to put her on, which I didn't. But I still remember having Barbie was one of my huge impact on motivation to make something from scratch. I did start sewing bags for Barbie and attempt to make dresses(which failed 95% of the time.)

EXPO Barbie

Even if you're not a Barbie fan it's still cool to see how many Barbies are out there. You'll recognize high end branding, cultural fashions, series of specific theme and celebrities. Myself, I loved looking at miniature costume designs for dolls. So many little details.

I'm not sure how long this will be around. But do stop by just to see other kinds of Barbie that you don't see everyday.
It's also free admission!
