It's crazy that time fly by even faster as I get older.
Right after the bathroom reno, went to next step to do the kitchen!
This was a HUGE step!!
Faucet was leaking and it was dripping down inside the cabinet under the sink and the boards were made out of particle board so the water was warping and cracking. There is a dishwasher that I never used since moving in so this was good time to just give the kitchen a new makeover.
Originally we were gonna do the just the main kitchen part like the photo above then the consultant suggested if we should add whole wall cabinet on the opposite side(photo below). It was a wall that was forced to make shelves as storage so it was an eye opener to have something better and practical.
This is the pantry that is right in the dining room.
It was additional reno, that might as well redo the whole pantry side to make it more sense to the surroundings and better storage system.
I originally wanted butcher countertop in the kitchen but I don't hear good stories with water tolerance around the sink in long term or the maintenance you encounter so quartz was chosen. So instead, we got the butcher countertop in the pantry.
Big changes from before but I'm happy we did this, so much more organized and more storage space that I can put away many kitchen stuff to keep away from the dust.
Now my next step is to decorate the kitchen to give that cozy home I had before.
Lived in this house for 12 years and decided to finally change up the 2nd floor bathroom. There was always priority fixes for the house but the bathroom has been the least important.
But the toilet has leak and the shower's water switch has broken so it had enough reason to fix everything all at once.
So check out the new tiny bathroom reno!
I moved into a house where it was my first time using medicine cabinet and I had no idea how convenient it is to put away stuff neat and tidy. It keeps the sink clear without any cluster so I can do more casual cleaning without having to move stuff around.
So I did install new medicine cabinet again for new reno.
This was an odd shaped wall where it was difficult to decide how should the storage system should be done. Too much custom build-in wall cabinet will be costly so I asked for cheaper option.
Mainly I wanted almost the whole wall to be covered with cabinet so it can used up the whole wall space for storage.
Cleaning the whole bathroom has been great since we made this room full white, made me realize how fast bathtub and tile wall gets dirty. The previous brown tiled wall with warm light hides many dirt buildups and caulks get blackened a lot quicker.
And we don't have shower curtain anymore so wiping glass is much easier!
